The ADAC Nordrhein published the entry list for the 2026 Nurburgring 24 Hours, featuring the largest field at the “Green Hell” since 2014. The entry list comprises 161 cars including Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen, and the SP9 class has also grown significantly to feature 41 racers.
The organisers accepted more entries than previously permitted after scaling back the maximum number of cars to 150 a few years ago due to increasing professionalism even in smaller teams. It also comes after a dramatic drop in the number of entries in the latter half of the 2010s to as low as 97 in the COVID-affected 2020 edition.

Thanks to a bulletin, the maximum number of cars permitted has now been raised to 161, making room for additional entries.
“We are delighted with the extraordinary response to the 2026 Nurburgring 24 Hours,” race director Walter Hornung said.
“The fact that we can bring this large and high-calibre field to the start is only possible because so many teams have cooperated. I would like to express my sincere thanks for that.
“This demonstrates the special spirit of the endurance racing community at the Nordschleife: from world-class stars to amateur drivers, everyone is pulling together because everyone wants to be part of this special race.”

With Verstappen’s participation in the 2026 iteration of the race, ticket sales have also reached record levels. The ADAC Nordrhein has sent a warning to fans that buying tickets on race day may no longer be possible due to a potential sell-out.
Further warnings were made about the traffic situation, with fans being notified about possible delays both on entering camping zones and when travelling on race day.
