Paige and Brie Bella were attacked by Fatal Influence, which left them outnumbered. It’s clear that this will lead to a match between the two sides, and Paige and Brie will need a third person. Nikki Bella is the obvious choice, and the former champion recently shared an update on her Instagram where she is back in the gym and clearly getting back on her feet.
Bella wants to come back to help her sister, and it’s clear that the return is coming.
What does Nikki Bella have planned for her WWE return?
This is the issue that WWE has right now. Nikki Bella has star power, and they clearly want her back in the fold, but at the same time, if she does make her return, then where does she fit in?
She wants to be a Women’s Tag Team Champion with her sister, and even if they use the Free Bird Rule, it wouldn’t allow her to be the team she wants to be. This means that Paige either has to hand over the title or things could get messy.
After all, Paige returned because Nikki and Brie asked her to; she is only back in WWE because of Bella’s injury, so she does owe the whole return to Nikki, and this would definitely be something she would bring up when she is able to return.
As fans will know from years of watching the two women, no one comes between The Bella Twins, and if Paige tries, then it could become an issue. That being said, she has friends of her own, and a certain AJ Lee could come to her aid again and WWE could roll the clock back to 2015 and have these teams once again going head to head.
