For the past few weeks, Sami had been getting heavily booed by the fans. However, the Honorary Uce got the opposite treatment when WWE recently hosted their shows in Europe as the fans continued to cheer him. In his recent tweet, Zayn took shots at the US fans for not cheering him and appreciated the European crowds. He even called himself “the Last Real Good Guy”, a new name which is heavily influenced by John Cena’s “Last Real Champion” moniker.

“Thank you to the RIDE OR DIE fans that showed up tonight in Lisbon. Incredible crowd. France, Spain, and Portugal are overflowing with love for THE LAST REAL GOOD GUY, because unlike some b*tch *ss haters who have no clue what they’re talking about, these fans actually know ball,” he wrote.

It will be interesting to see if WWE will use this new name prominently for Zayn heading into their next PLE which will be the Night of Champions.

Sami Zayn defended the United States Championship against John Cena in his last SmackDown match

Back when John Cena was the United States Champion back in 2015, he used to host weekly open challenges. One of the many opponents he faced during that run was Sami Zayn who made his main roster debut by facing Cena for the title. Both Zayn and Cena had a full circle moment last year when Cena actually challenged Zayn for the US title on his last SmackDown appearance.

Both stars went at it for 20+ minutes but the match ended in a no contest after an interference from Brock Lesnar. Cena had been feuding with Lesnar heading into WrestlePalooza around that time. It was still very poetic to see Cena challenge Zayn for the US title, nearly a decade after Zayn made his RAW debut against him.

Fans are excited to see what’s next for Sami Zayn under Triple H’s creative.
