EVIL is a well-known name in the world of professional wrestling. Therefore, it was a bold move to change his name to Naraku. However, it looks like that wasn’t the first choice for his name.
Before his NXT name was revealed, it was rumored that the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion was supposed to be called “Nox Raijin” after the sports entertainment juggernaut trademarked the name. Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that he was informed, along with others, that EVIL would be called “Nox Raijin.” He also reported that the name wasn’t a swerve and would be used for another signing in the future.
Based on his win tonight, it looks like the future is bright for Naraku in WWE.
