AS Monaco certainly had the chances to beat Olympique de Marseille. Les Monégasques even found the back of the net twice in the second half, but lost 1-0 against OM thanks to a late Mason Greenwood strike.

Folarin Balogun’s disallowed goal, Monaco’s second of the night, came just before Greenwood’s winner. There was no debating that decision, a clear offside, but his involvement in a disallowed goal earlier in the half was more than a little contentious.

Balgoun was offside but did not seem to interfere in play, but the initial offside call stood. Whilst post-match, Sébastien Pocognoli did not wish to criticise the refereeing performance, Lamine Camara, the scorer of that controversially disallowed offside goal, did not hide his incomprehension.

“There is frustration tonight. We have looked back at my disallowed goal in the dressing room, and we still haven’t understood why [it was disallowed],” reacted the Senegal international in a post-match mixed zone interview attended by Get French Football News.
