MJF is scheduled to defend the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega on this Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite. If Omega loses the match, he can never challenge for the AEW World Championship again.

The former leader of The Brawling Brutes has been out of action with an injury since last year. He has not competed on WWE television since teaming up with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat The Judgment Day on the November 17, 2025, episode of RAW. John Cena retired from in-ring competition following his loss to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event last December.

Major WWE star reveals he wants to retire Sheamus

Gunther recently shared that he wanted to retire Sheamus. The Ring General is currently on the WWE SmackDown roster and got into a heated altercation with Nick Aldis following his loss at Night of Champions.

Speaking on Main Event Club, Gunther noted that The Irish Curse was his first major opponent in the promotion. The former champion suggested that he wanted to beat down the 48-year-old before his career came to an end.

“On the main roster, Sheamus was my first really, really big opponent, and he made my life hell. He beat me up a lot. So he made me earn it. So I hope I can kick his a** on the way out,” he added.
