On a recent clip from Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the wrestling veteran questioned if there was a motive behind WWE keeping Knight off TV. He felt that the former US champ was already over with fans and the creative team should use him regularly. Mantell hinted that there may be some underlying reason behind the company not booking the 43-year-old star on their weekly programming.

“There’s probably a motive underneath this. I will go to work uncovering this discrepancy and maybe have something for you in the next week. I’ll see. But yeah, but I’m saying, he’s already established, and there’s no get-over time for him. You put him out there, the people know who he is and I know who he is, and he can just go from there. To me, that was like, a lot of times, that’s what creative looks for. Who knows this guy? Well, everybody knows LA Knight. So it should be just a layup for him, but we’ll see. Unless, I’m saying there’s an underlying reason, which in wrestling there usually is.”

WWE scrapped major plans for LA Knight

In the aftermath of WrestleMania 42, WWE had huge plans for LA Knight. A recent report from Bodyslam+ stated that Knight was scheduled to have a short program with Gunther. However, the Triple H-led creative team eventually decided to scrap the plans and booked the Ring General in a program with Cody Rhodes on SmackDown for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

The angle between Knight and Gunther was teased on the RAW after WrestleMania. In a backstage segment, the Ring General detailed that he was looking to win the world title. The megastar interrupted him and made it clear that he was also eyeing championship gold, suggesting some tensions between the two stars.

At this point, there is no clear details around the creative plans for LA Knight. However, he continues to be a part of the company amidst some major releases over the last month.
