According to a recent report from WrestleVotes via Fightful Select, Royal Rumble may follow suit. The report claimed that the idea was being seriously considered backstage, with some believing it would come into affect from this year itself. However, the current feeling behind the scenes is that Royal Rumble will be a one night event for potentially the final time, with it being implied that the format will change sooner rather than later.

WWE recently made an announcement regarding Royal Rumble

There is another update officially confirmed by the Stamford-based promotion regarding Royal Rumble.

The last Royal Rumble took place in Saudi Arabia, which turned out to be a spectacular affair. At a press conference, Dana White notified everyone that the next Royal Rumble would be taking place in the State Farm Stadium in Arizona. He said:

“In February 2027, WWE will bring one of its biggest annual events to Arizona, the Royal Rumble. I can tell you this: WWE has a very passionate global fanbase, and we’re looking forward to bringing that buzz and economic impact here to Arizona,” he said.

Royal Rumble has always been one of the most watched shows of the Stamford-based promotion, with the biggest attraction being the titular matches in both men’s and women’s division. The show often features surprise returns and new stars debuting to show off their talent. If the event is indeed split into two nights, it would provide opportunities for more matches across the divided shows.

As of now, it remains to be seen if Triple H is actually planning to go ahead and make Royal Rumble a two-night event.
