Golf is hard, even for the best players in the world.

Enter Ina Yoon, the Korean pro who was one shot back of the lead early in the first round of the 2026 Chevron Championship when she stepped on the tee of the par-3 seventh hole at Memorial Park on Thursday. What happened next was shocking.

Yoon hit a shot so poor it didn’t even clear the canyon between the tee box and the green. The flubbed shot shocked even commentators Tom Abbott and Morgan Pressel.

“I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a shot like that on the LPGA,” Abbott remarked.

Pressel added she had her fair share of shanks, but Yoon’s shot was remarkably shocking considering her position on the leaderboard.

Yoon doubled the hole, dropping to 2 under for her round and three shots off the lead.

The 22-year-old is in her second season on the LPGA and has three top-10 finishes and almost $1 million in earnings during her career. Even with the flubbed shot, Yoon remained in the top 10 as her first round came to a close.
