The San Francisco 49ers have been known to be in the running to enhance their defensive front: whether on the line or at linebacker.
Now, a 35-year-old two-time Super Bowl champion has just entered the chat.

Kyle Van Noy, an unrestricted free agent outside linebacker who last played with the Baltimore Ravens during the 2025 season, made an appearance on Up and Adams with Kay Adams and expressed his desire to play alongside 49ers linebacker Fred Warner.
“I would really like to play with my little brother Fred Warner with the Niners. I think they got something cooking over there,” Van Noy said during his recent interview. “I know they love Joey Bosa, because Nick and all that, I get that, but I would love to play with my little brother.”
He added: “That’s my guy and I think they got something cooking over there. … I would love to play with Frederico, a little bit.”
When pryed by Adams, Van Noy said that he wouldn’t get into details on whether he or his agent has talked to anyone in the 49ers front office.

“Honestly, I’m just enjoying my time,” Van Noy said. “I’m enjoying the conversations I have with my agent. I’m enjoying the process.”
If it did happen, it would give another veteran presence and talented addition to their linebacker room. Van Noy would make for a great emergency, in case of injury, let alone, playing meaningful downs. After all, he is a two-time champion with the New England Patriots in 2016 and 2018.
Van Noy has appeared in 173 career games, starting in 115. He has recorded 561 tackles, 375 solo and 186 assisted. He has collected 57 quarterback sacks, including a career-high 12.5 sacks in 2024 with the Ravens, where he was named to the 2024 Pro Bowl.
