The trailer for the episode was recently released, and it announced that the full episode would air on July 28. The trailer has Jim Cornette talking about how WWE (then WWF) did bada** stuff with the in-ring hanging of Big Boss Man on television. There are also interviews with the late star’s family saying how Traylor was a great guy behind the heel persona he portrayed.

The former Hardcore Champion was a proper heel and intimidating as he dressed in a uniform, armed with a nightstick. He took pleasure in punishing his opponents and handcuffing them to the ropes.

This ongoing season of Dark Side of the Ring is the seventh of the acclaimed series, and consists of nine episodes. The first three focused on Jeff Jarrett and the ascent of TNA, while the fourth was about Necro Butcher vs. Samoa Joe.

Former WWE star Samoa Joe revealed why he accepted the match vs. Necro Butcher

On the fourth episode of Dark Side of the Ring, the legendary 2005 showdown between hardcore brawler Necro Butcher and Samoa Joe was highlighted. The former WWE United States Champion reflected on why he accepted the Philadelphia show, saying the reason was not professional but purely personal.

It was to spend time with his now-wife, Jessica Seanoa, who was living in the area at the time. Samoa and Necro clearly had different intentions while entering the match.

“…My wife, then girlfriend at the time, she lived close to Philly. So I’d literally, I took the booking, ’cause I was trying to get some a**. We’re [he and Necro Butcher] definitely different mindsets walking into this match,” said Samoa Joe

The bout took place on June 11, 2005, during IWA Mid-South’s Something To Prove event in Philadelphia at the legendary 2300 Arena. The match headlined the show, which was filled with heavy strikes and chaotic weapon spots as the former secured the victory.
