NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has suggested that he does not like Denny Hamlin talking about his current struggles at Richard Childress Racing. He did not hesitate in saying that he could make Hamlin’s life “hell.”
MotorBiscuit reported Hamlin’s comments from a recent episode of his Actions Detrimental podcast, where he compared Busch to his RCR teammate Austin Dillon, and questioned if NASCAR’s current Next-Gen car was responsible for a decline in Busch’s performance. Hamlin said:

“You’re a Hall of Fame Mount Rushmore driver, and if you’re of the greatest, then carry it better than your teammate who has won 10 races. I think he should be able to do that, but it’s not happening.
“I think that he doesn’t know how to get the speed out of the Next-Gen car on a consistent basis. There’s been flashes of it. And when yes, he won three races his first season at RCR. That was the first year of Next-Gen.”

Hamlin then went on to doubt whether Busch can frequent the Victory Lane again. He said:
“If you’re expecting Kyle Busch to just go back to Victory Lane on a regular basis, you’re kidding yourselves and you’re going to be very disappointed. I just think that, until we change the car or something changes, something has to change, and I have no idea. I’m not in his shoes. I’m not his crew chief.

“I’m not his engineer, and I’m not his team owner. I’m not in the weeds. I’m just a podcaster that happens to be on the racetrack around him, and I can say it’s not working. I don’t have the answers, and we need to just live in this reality for the time being.”
Busch Says He Can Make Denny Hamlin’s Life “Hell”
However, Busch has hit back at Hamlin’s comments, revealing that he would like to see Hamlin perform better than him in the same car. Speaking to Jeff Gluck of The Athletic, the NASCAR veteran said:
“If Denny wants to switch cars, I’ll switch cars with him. Any day of the week, any time. I’d love for him to show me that he can carry it better than I can.”

Busch was then asked if he consumes what people say about him on social media. He answered:
“I have consumed some of it over time and 80%, people don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. In this instance, I don’t feel like Denny Hamlin even knows what the hell he’s talking about. So he can bash me all he wants. I can certainly make his life hell.”
