Ferruggia stated that many have doubted Punk’s recent gains because they’re unaware of the work The Second City Saint put in to achieve his goals behind the scenes. The popular trainer explained what Punk did to reach the level he intended to.
“CM Punk is working his a** off from day one when he reached out to me. He has done every single thing that I’ve asked him to do. He’s on vacation in Hawaii, checking in with me every single day, sending me pictures, sending me his meals, sending me his macros, his weight, his temperature after meals, sending me videos from the gym, taking naps, getting enough sleep, getting morning sunshine, taking the supplements I tell him to take, never missing a workout, doing more than I ask him to do. I have to hold him back,” Ferruggia said.
Ferruggia also stated that some of the pictures were AI-enhanced and that many were hating on Punk for no reason.
“Meanwhile, half these pictures are AI, and the other half are from being in the gym with great lighting, with a great pump… Honestly, he’s making almost newbie gains. It’s surprising me, but I know what’s going on. I know all the things he’s doing. I’m with him. I spend time with him. I talk to him every single day. So just because someone’s getting somewhere and accomplishing something that you can’t doesn’t mean they are taking shortcuts and cheating. You are just lazy,” Ferruggia said. [H/T – Ringside News]
What’s next for CM Punk on WWE SmackDown?
Last month, CM Punk returned to the company and competed in his first match following WrestleMania 42. The Second City Saint won the Undisputed WWE Championship from Sami Zayn and ultimately defended it for the first time at WWE SummerSlam in Minnesota against Cody Rhodes.
Unfortunately for The American Nightmare, Randy Orton returned to WWE, costing him the title match. Meanwhile, Kevin Owens also returned to the company and became the new number one contender for CM Punk’s title when he won a Fatal 4-Way match.
On August 21st, The Straight Edge Superstar will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against The Prizefighter on Friday Night SmackDown in Toronto. It’ll be interesting to see which star leaves the show with the championship.
