The former Divas Champion quickly rose to the top of the Divas’ division and eventually left the company in 2014. Speaking on her YouTube channel, the 39-year-old star recalled her past beef with Layla when the two were working in the promotion at the same time.
Bonin stated that the two had issues in the past, and they resolved them when they shared a table at an event. The former Divas Champion stated that she got a lot of s** from the women in the locker room due to her quick rise to the top, but thankfully, she and Layla were able to bury the hatchet.
“It was maybe two or three years since I had seen Layla. Layla, actually, when we were both still in the WWE, she left a few years before I did, and we had never really talked or caught up until a few years ago. We were actually booked for a signing with, and we were sharing a table. Her and I had a little bit of a beef in the past, like when I first got my contract, I had never wrestled before, and I was only with the company for about four weeks before I got pulled up on TV to debut on NXT season 3,” Bonin said.
She added:
“I got a lot of s**t from the locker room from some of the top women there because they didn’t feel like I deserved to be there. Though she was one of the Divas that gave me a hard time, we’ve since talked it out and worked it out, and we’re really cool now,” Bonin said.
While Bonin mentioned she and Layla had issues, she didn’t expand on the nature of the said issue between the two.
Kaitlyn teases WWE return
AJ Lee was arguably Kaitlyn’s biggest rival in the company, and the two had history as they both rose to fame at the same time in WWE. While Bonin retired and focused on other aspects of her life, Lee returned to the Stamford-based promotion in 2025.
Recently, the former Divas Champion teased a return to WWE for a match with The Geek Goddess. The 39-year-old star teased that she has unfinished business with the former Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
