Real Madrid have impressed many with their sudden burst of form, with the Los Blancos notably demolishing Manchester City in the Champions League.
Although Real Madrid are still four points behind Barcelona in the league table, their recent form has made them look quite threatening while also helping Alvaro Arbeloa gain trust within the team.

Canizares on Real Madrid’s recent form
In a recent interaction (h/t MARCA), Canizares talked about Real Madrid’s form, adding that he had wished the team had played like this all season.
“Real Madrid surprised us and played an excellent tie. A completely different mentality, commitment, and spirit. If Madrid had played all year like they did in this tie, nobody would have doubted them,” he said.
Canizares’ comments came right after Real Madrid’s 5-1 aggregate win over Manchester City, with Los Blancos winning both legs.

“They’ve changed their game plan, and your obligation is to change your mind. Valverde played a fantastic match and completely changed Madrid’s mood,” he said.
As for the road ahead, Canizares talked about Real Madrid’s quarterfinal challenge against Bayern Munich.
Despite calling it a 50:50 tie, the Spaniard pointed out that Real Madrid have indeed risen to the occasion and sounded confident of the team’s chances of securing a victory over the Bavarians.

“The tie is 50-50. It’s very difficult to pick a favourite because Real Madrid has risen to the occasion, especially considering their history. Even playing at a lower level than their opponents, they are capable of beating them,” he concluded.
