Tonight on the blue brand, Saints was in a backstage segment with Nick Aldis, where he was upset that, after facing QB1 Cody Rhodes last week, he had to face QB4 Matt Cardona this week. The Indy God took exception to Saints’ comments and said he came back to WWE not to put over people like him. During the match, Saints was able to defeat Matt Cardona after a hard-fought battle. This was the former AEW star’s first win on the blue brand.

Ricky Saints rated his WWE run higher than his time in AEW

Before arriving in WWE, Ricky Saints wrestled for AEW for several years. He was a former FTW Champion and Tag Team Champion. He also won the Owen Hart Cup. However, he was unused by the company during his final years, which led him to leave the company.

During a recent interview with The Ringer, Saints rated his WWE run higher than his time in AEW.

“That’s hard. I loved my run at AEW for all (television) stuff. You can say what you want about the other stuff. If you look at it in totality, I did enjoy it, I just wanted more out of it. I think I would give it a B. I have to remove certain personal things of accomplishments that I wanted that I didn’t necessarily get. I have to remove that. I have to look at what the actual work was. What was actually done. When compared to NXT, I would give my NXT run a B+. We’re edging out an A.”- H/T Fightful
