Following The Grandest Stage of Them All, fans have been wondering whether Orton actually got injured at WrestleMania 42. It’s crucial to note that this wasn’t the first time Orton was spotted favoring his back. He has done something similar in many of his recent matches. From the looks of it, he was purely selling the moves in the squared circle, highlighting his real-life back issues.

Randy Orton walks out after losing to Cody Rhodes at #WrestleMania

It’s likely that The Apex Predator wasn’t dealing with a real-life issue during his match against Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania Night One. The injury angle might be an excuse to write him off television following The Shows of Shows.

It remains to be seen what’s next for The Viper after The Grandest Stage of Them All. There is a high chance that WWE will continue the feud between Rhodes and Orton after the legend delivered a punt kick to The American Nightmare after suffering a loss.

WWE provided a major update on Randy Orton after WrestleMania 42

Following WrestleMania 42, WWE provided a major update on The Apex Predator’s in-ring future. The Stamford-based promotion announced that The American Nightmare and The Viper were in rough shape after their high-profile bout.

WWE interviewer Jackie Redmond confirmed that Orton was limping on his way to the backstage area.

“As for Randy Orton, I don’t know when we will see him again. It took him an entire 10 minutes to come up the ramp. He was moving slowly. He was limping. He was grabbing his back, but I’ll tell you one thing, Joe Tessitore, he was a blank stare straight ahead. Did not look to his left, did not look to his right, engaged with absolutely nobody. Had to take a second for himself once he got to the top of the stage. In fact, it honestly looked like he almost lost his balance, like he was a little bit out of it. He looked back at Cody [Rhodes], who was still being attended to by referees in the ring, and then made his way out. So one thing I do know after what we witnessed tonight is that both of those guys are in rough shape.”

It appears that the creative team could be using his injury angle to write both stars off television, at least for a week. As of this writing, there is no official update on whether they will make their presence felt on the upcoming episode of SmackDown.
