Instead, it was revealed by McAfee himself that Rhodes’ appearance was cancelled because of a scheduling conflict.

The appearance has apparently been postponed to a later date, but it’s unclear if that will be before WrestleMania or if it will be after Rhodes has gone face-to-face with Randy Orton at the biggest event of the year.

Why was Cody Rhodes pulled from the show?

While a scheduling conflict can mean a number of things, including Rhodes being booked elsewhere or unable to make an appearance in that city as needed, it could be argued that he could have instead attended the show via Skype.

Cody Rhodes has not been seen since the attack, and it could be the main pull for SmackDown either this week or next week for him to finally speak out. That would mean that the real reason for Rhodes’ appearance being cancelled was that WWE pulled the plug.

Orton has already shared the reasons for his attack, but Rhodes has been betrayed by his long-time friend and now has to find a way to pick himself back up and go back to work because he has to defend his title against The Viper in less than four weeks.

He said he wanted The Legend Killer, and now he has him, and he has the chance to test himself against the best version of Randy Orton.
