On last week’s SmackDown, Pat McAfee was revealed as Randy Orton’s mystery ally. The decision received immediate backlash from fans. Cody Rhodes came out later in the show and cut a fiery promo. Instead of just targeting his rivals, the QB1 mocked McAfee’s inclusion and subtly took shots at TKO.

CM Punk continued what Rhodes started. He brought up McAfee’s introduction in the Rhodes vs. Orton program, even though he has nothing to do with it. He even referenced Ari Emanuel for his reported involvement in inserting the NFL legend into the feud, and called out TKO for the rising ticket prices.

After the release of WWE: Unreal, it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s part of the storyline. There is a high possibility that this turns out to be a program down the line, with heroes like Cody Rhodes and CM Punk defending the Stamford-based promotion against a corporate faction.

The American Nightmare and The Best in the World could join forces and take down TKO (in kayfabe, of course). That said, this scenario is only based on speculation, and nothing has been confirmed.

Pat McAfee responds to CM Punk’s pipebomb

CM Punk called Pat McAfee a “buggy-whipped, arm-no-brain hillbilly” on Monday Night RAW. Responding to the NFL legend’s comments about the low ticket sales, Punk told McAfee to call up the agent who has inserted him into the program and ask him to lower the prices.

The commentator reacted to Punk’s comments with a fiery message. In an X post, he wrote the following:

“Good morning beautiful people.. Last night a Punk a** b**ch explained that he is not worth the price of admission to #WrestleMania42. WE CAN ALL AGREE WITH THAT.. it’s kindof the whole thing I been sayin BUT.. I have GREAT news. It will be interesting to see if Pat McAfee can help Orton win his 15th world title at WrestleMania 42.
