CM Punk lost his World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania back in April, and over the past few months, The Best in the World has been surprisingly rumored to be making his return on WWE SmackDown to take on Cody Rhodes.

Of course, Rhodes has some issues of his own to address tomorrow night when he defends his Undisputed WWE Championship against Gunther, in a match where Sami Zayn will be the special guest referee.

This could either be a spoiler or a rumor that’s not coming into fruition, since it’s unclear who the champion will be by Night of Champions.

CM Punk’s WWE return is a hot topic of conversation at present, but it’s unclear where he is expected to come back to. There are reports that he could head to SmackDown, but there is also the chance that he wants revenge against Roman Reigns on RAW.

It will be interesting to see what Punk decides to do and if he makes his return alone, since there is a lot of talk about AJ Lee and if she will be part of WWE moving forward.

Lee appeared to say goodbye to WWE following WrestleMania and hasn’t appeared since. She did recently note that she would be part of Unreal’s next season, but it’s unclear if she will play a part in the business any further or if she was only back for a handful of matches and a Becky Lynch story.
