Things came full circle on this week’s SmackDown when Sami Zayn exacted his revenge and won the Undisputed title back from CM Punk. Zayn didn’t pull this off on his own, though, as Gargano and Candice LeRae assisted him. Even Kevin Owens, who came out to attack Sami Zayn, ended up hitting Punk accidentally, allowing the heel to capitalize and execute a brutal Helluva kick for the win.

The show went off the air with Zayn celebrating his victory, while CM Punk remained in the ring, trying to make sense of what just went down in front of the Mexican crowd. Following the show, Punk took to his Instagram stories to send his first message following the devastating title loss on SmackDown.

CM Punk might demand a rematch in WWE

Considering how the Undisputed Title match was loaded with outside shenanigans coming into play, Punk could soon seek out a rematch from SmackDown GM Nick Aldis. However, one thing that could be a roadblock in this is the myriad challengers Sami Zayn could be up against in the coming weeks.

Another way for Punk to find his place back in the title picture could be through finding a spot in the Men’s Money in the Bank match that’s scheduled to go down at the titular PLE on October 10th. If he manages to secure a spot and eventually win the Ladder match, he could be guaranteed a title shot at any place and time of his choice. Only time will tell how things pan out for The Second City Saint next.
