This match was set up last week when Michin challenged Tatum Paxley during a backstage segment on the August 21st episode of SmackDown. The match saw Paxley and her faction members at ringside in support of the former NXT Women’s Champion. Michin also had her teammates in her corner. After a lot of back-and-forth and despite some interference, Paxley managed to pick up the win.

During the rivalry between Jade Cargill’s faction and the duo of Charlotte Flair and Bliss, the Goddess suffered an injury. Bliss’ injury forced the Queen to return to singles action to take on Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab alone. But a couple of weeks ago, when Bliss returned, she brought a new member: Tatum Paxley.

Following this week’s match, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair joined in on Paxley’s celebration. It is worth noting that with WWE Survivor Series WarGames a few months away, the Stamford-based promotion might have already set up the two teams for the Premium Live Event.

Adding to this, Nikki Bella made her return on the show to take out Paige just moments after Jacy Jayne defeated the Anti-Diva to retain her United States Championship.
