The two stars were involved in a heated feud in 2018, and after Lynch turned heel on Flair at SummerSlam, the dynamics changed pretty fast. Despite being a heel, The Man was cheered by the fans over Flair. During a recent interview with TMZ Sports’ Inside The Ring, Flair talked about the rivalry with Lynch and how it shaped both of them.

She was asked if there was anything she would have done differently during their 2018-2019 feud. Charlotte Flair noted she would have been more accepting of the fan response toward her.

“Well, because she was the bad guy getting cheered and I was the good guy getting booed. Instead of going, ‘Why are they booing me?’ Why don’t they like me?’ and then changing kind of how I worked, it kind of made me insecure in the ring where I could have been like, ‘Dude, they’re booing, they’re reacting,'” she said.

The 40-year-old WWE star said she should have soaked in the fan reaction and added that she learned a lot from the feud.

“Soak all of that in instead of shying away or trying to be liked. When someone is trying to be liked, that’s when everyone’s like, ‘Oh.’ I learned so much from that feud,” she added.

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch made history in WWE

The 2018 rivalry between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch laid the foundation for a historic WrestleMania next year.

Ronda Rousey was the RAW Women’s Champion and Lynch challenged her for the Title after winning the Women’s Royal Rumble match. However, after Big Time Becks attacked Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, Vince McMahon suspended her and replaced her with Flair as Rousey’s WrestleMania opponent.

Lynch was then reinstated by Stephanie and earned a shot at the RAW Women’s Title at the Show of Shows. The Queen also won the SmackDown Women’s Championship making the match at WrestleMania 35 a “Winner Takes All” with both women’s Titles on the line.

Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Lynch made history, becoming the first women to headline WrestleMania as The Man walked out with both Championships.
