A few days after his appearance, WWE filed for a trademark on his name and he later took to social media to confirm his new identity as he was going by the name of Mike Santana earlier. He has now taken to X, formerly Twitter, to share an emotional message with all of his fans.

Commenting on his entrance from NXT this week, Cruz wrote:

“Called my baby girl and told her, YOUR PAPI DID IT!”

It was the first time he was addressed by his brand new name and by the looks of it, he is enjoying every second.

Matt Hardy predicted Cruz Montana’s WWE move

Matt Hardy has seen a lot of young wrestlers and one of them is Cruz Montana. Hardy saw Montana work in AEW and later TNA and he recently predicted that Montana’s goal would be to ultimately work for WWE.

Speaking on his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy Podcast, he said:

“I mean that, that, that wouldn’t surprise me. I would guess that’s probably Mike Santana’s ultimate goal [is] to work for WWE. You know, most kids who grew up loving wrestling, their goal is to work for WWE at some point, have a WrestleMania moment, whatever else. That [him going to WWE] wouldn’t shock me at all.”

That prediction worked a treat as Cruz Montana ultimately showed up in WWE and has firmly placed himself in the title picture in NXT. He will follow a long line of former AEW stars that have taken to NXT to continue their journey in WWE.
