Zoey Stark has changed her X handle to just Zoey, while announcing that she is now “The Purist” Zoey Serrano and that she will be returning to action for the first time in 14 months on July 24th, when she becomes a free agent.

It seemed that the former WWE star could have been teasing retirement, something that was teased during her time on the sidelines, but instead, she has announced that she will be returning to action for the first time since her injury and showed footage of her training with AEW star Brian Cage.

Zoey Stark is in good company with recently released WWE stars

Zoey Stark isn’t the only person to change up her name and move on following her release; it seems that the whole of Wyatt Sicks is already taking bookings and will be in town for SummerSlam, appearing at WrestleCon.

The group has already shown that they have changed their names as well, since WWE will retain copyright of all of their ring names and Wyatt Sicks. Nikki Cross is now Nikki Storm, The Best in the Galaxy, while Joe Gacy is Joseph Sawyer, Erick Rowan is back to Erick Redbeard, whilst Dexter Lumis has reverted to his real name, Samuel Shaw, and Bo Dallas is Taylor Rotunda.

There are a number of other stars, including The New Day who recently walked away from WWE, who have also started to move forward despite being on a 90-day contract clause. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have shown that they have their new names and several appearances booked when they are able to wrestle in other companies. Woods and Kingston chose to walk away from the company last month, but fellow star Big E has remained under contract.
