During a top-rope sequence, Wilde attempted a DDT on Octagon Jr., but the latter fell flat, striking his head on the mat. The former AAA Latin American Champion was visibly injured then and there. Referees and medical personnel quickly entered the ring as Octagon was unresponsive. Shortly after, he was put on a neck brace.

As of now, there’s no official update on the extent of his injury or even the potential recovery timeline.

Octagon had reportedly signed with WWE but has not wrestled ever since being a part of the promotion. Apparently, he had his WWE in-ring debut before his signing against Dominik Mysterio at Money in the Bank 2025.

What happened in Week 1 of AAA Noche de Los Grandes

Later in the historic main event, El Grande Americano defeated ‘Original’ El Grande Americano in a Mask vs. Mask match. The ‘Original’ one had to remove his mask and unveil himself as Chad Gable.

The Lucha de Apuestas Máscara contra MáscLibreara match was the hottest storyline going into the show. One can say the Noche de Los Grandes was built around this intense bout that had major cultural implications at one point.
