Joe Tessitore has become a big name on SmackDown, creating something of an impact on the show and becoming the regular star to feature on commentary. He joined Wade Barrett as one of the two announcers for the show at the commentary desk, replacing Michael Cole, who used to host in that position in the past. However, he was not present at tonight’s show of the Blue brand.

Michael Cole was present instead, and he announced that the star was not there as he had to be present at the Zuffa Boxing show for TKO instead. As a result, he was unable to be present at SmackDown as well for tonight’s show.

Now, the star commented on the show instead. It’s expected that Tessitore will be back once again from next week, and the show is also set to be back in the United States with the European tour coming to an end.

As for the commentary team, there has been a history of shuffles within the broadcast teams in WWE in the past, with Pat McAfee’s return often meaning that things have needed to be changed. However, McAfee is currently gone from WWE, and with Randy Orton losing, it was said that he would never be back in the company ever again. It was one of the claims he made when he was part of the legendary star’s corner heading into his match against Cody Rhodes.

Thus, for now, RAW is commentated by Michael Cole and Corey Graves, and SmackDown by Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore. Meanwhile, Booker T is the commentator on NXT with Vic Joseph.
