The Brahma Bull showed up on WWE TV to seemingly take Rhodes’ WrestleMania spot. This received massive backlash from fans, and the company moved back to its original decision for Rhodes vs. Reigns. Rocky was also booked for a match at ‘Mania, where he teamed up with the OTC to lock horns with The American Nightmare and Seth Rollins in a Tag Team Match.

Nick Khan claims WrestleMania XL plans never changed

During a recent interview with Sports Business Journal, Nick Khan claimed that the company never changed its plans for Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship despite what reports suggested.

Khan added that it was only their way to throw the fans off guard, and The Rock came back just for the Tag Team Match.

“By the way, the plan was always how it ended up in Philly two years ago. Sometimes, it’s a pre-determined outcome in wrestling. You want to throw the fans off, you want to let things bake, and then, boom, it ends up the way that we wanted it to end up. It never changed. That was just online rumors and gossip that we were changing — it never changed. We convinced Dwayne Johnson to come back. He’s on our board of directors. It was a tag team match,” claimed Khan.

WWE President Nick Khan reportedly lied in his statement

According to a recent report by Fightful, Nick Khan allegedly lied about WrestleMania XL plans never changing. The report highlighted that even Cody Rhodes had publicly said that if fans knew about the original ‘Mania plans for him, they would have been more angry at WWE.

However, the company’s initial plans that Rhodes was talking about are still unknown, but it was reiterated that his plans did change when The Rock returned.

The Brahma Bull hasn’t been seen in the Stamford-based promotion since Elimination Chamber 2025. It will be interesting to see whether he will return to the company anytime soon.
