Becky Lynch was among the women who rode this wave and helped shape the division into what it is today. However, in a recent appearance on the Happy Mum podcast, Lynch revealed that she was afraid of telling her then-boss Vince McMahon that she had gotten pregnant with her daughter Roux while she held the top belt in the Women’s division.

“But I think the scariest of all was telling my boss, Vince McMahon… And I like called him, and I was, oh my God, I was terrified. I was terrified. He was gonna, you know, I was his champion, and he’d taken this chance on women main eventing and etc.”, Lynch said

Lynch would go on to say that she felt an overwhelming responsibility on her shoulders and even thought that she had “ruined it” for a generation of women who were in their comeuppance.

“And I was like, oh no, what if I’ve ruined it for a generation of women? Then I was like, ‘but that’s also not fair.’ You know, we should be able to do both. And that’s how my head was going into that conversation. Of like, ‘oh, oh, this is great for me, but now I’ve ruined women for life’, you know? They’ll never be trusted again, you know? That’s a lot of weight on a person’s shoulders,” said Lynch.

The Man held the RAW Women’s Title for a whopping 399 days before dropping it on May 10th, 2020, following which she took a break for her pregnancy. She gave birth to Roux on December 4th 2020.

Becky Lynch is currently on a hiatus

Becky Lynch is one of the top heels in the Women’s Division on RAW. She held the Intercontinental Title until Clash in Italy after winning it at WrestleMania 42 from AJ Lee earlier this year.

She then dropped the belt at Clash in Italy to Sol Ruca, who was promoted to the main roster from NXT this year. Lynch has since been on hiatus and last wrestled in the first round of the Queen of the Ring tournament.

It would be interesting to see what will happen once Becky Lynch returns to TV.
