An Argentine star has confirmed he’s ready to join Liverpool.

Can you rewrite this? Jeremy Jacquet looks set to be the first of several new arrivals at Anfield this summer in the centre-back department.

The club have already agreed a deal for the young defender to join in July, with the expectation that he will provide valuable depth in a position where options are currently thin.

However, Liverpool’s plans for the centre-back role do not stop there, and further additions are firmly on the agenda as part of a wider defensive reshaping.

Ifeanyi Ndukwe is also joining the club this summer and there will be more experience on the way too.

Much of this activity will be driven by growing uncertainty around several of the club’s existing defenders. Ibrahima Konate is approaching the final stages of his contract, and with no extension agreed, the possibility of a departure is becoming increasingly real with every passing day.

At the same time, Joe Gomez continues to attract interest from elsewhere. He came close to securing a move to AC Milan last summer, and with his current deal running until 2027, Liverpool could be tempted to sell while his market value remains high.

If they both leave, Jacquet’s arrival will just the beginning, but even if they don’t, the Reds already have their sights set on at least one more signing.

One player on the club’s radar is Marcos Senesi.

According to Matteo Moretto, Liverpool are showing ‘a lot of interest’ in Marcos Senesi recently, with whom contact has already been made by the Reds.

Moretto claims that there will be ‘new’ contacts with Senesi soon.

Some may roll their eyes at the prospect of Senesi but those need to look into his performance on Sunday against Crystal Palace, which pretty much confirmed he’s ready to join Liverpool.

In a brilliant 3-0 victory, Senesi was dictating the rhythm of play for Bournemouth.

He completed the most passes (52) on the pitch and made 18 passes into the final third, which was the most of any player on the pitch as well.

On top of that Senesi attempted 10 long balls, and was just the ultimate outlet during the build-up phase of the game for the Cherries.

At the same time, he put in a solid defensive shift as well. He won six out of seven ground duels and made eight clearances to help his side to a clean-sheet.

This was a performance that confirmed he’s ready to join Liverpool, he’s exactly the type of profile the Reds need.

And you can go beyond this performance and see his numbers. He has averaged the most progressive passes (14.89 per 90 minutes) in the entire Premier League this season.
