Alex Bowman is finally back in the No. 48 car for Hendrick Motorsports. After being diagnosed with vertigo, Bowman missed four NASCAR Cup Series races before returning at Bristol Motor Speedway. While the Hendrick Motorsports driver wrecked out for a last place finish, he was still happy to be back in a stock car. After all, Bowman didn’t know if it would happen again.

Bowman thought his NASCAR career was over after getting out of the No. 48 car at Circuit of the Americas, the driver said in a press conference at Bristol. The driver of the No. 48 car got out and thought “this was probably it.” Thankfully, Bowman was able to return four races later.

It was a scary process for Bowman as he didn’t know if he would ever race in NASCAR again. Hendrick Motorsports wasn’t able to recreate the vertigo symptoms in testing, allowing Bowman to return to the No. 48 car. There will be much debate on Bowman’s future in the No. 48 car, but for now, it is great to see him driving again.
