Lee is married to CM Punk in real life. The Second City Saint has not competed in a match since dropping the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns in the main event of WWE WrestleMania 42. Roman Reigns is scheduled to defend the title against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam in August.

WWE star AJ Lee comments on how CM Punk deals with her mental health struggles

AJ Lee opened up about her mental health struggles and revealed that she gave CM Punk a warning ahead of time.

Speaking on State of Mind with Maurice Benard, Lee discussed her “dark days” and how her husband dealt with them. The former Divas Champion shared that she warned Punk, and he has learned how to help her over the years.

“I named it like my dark days. I’ll wake up, and I know it’s like a low cycle, and I’ll tell my husband, and I warn him. He’s very open to it and knows the language of it now, where he’s just like, ‘What do you need? Like, how do we make this day better?’ But you just sometimes wake up like that, or I’ll go to bed, and I know the next day, like I’m feeling it already. Just like the idea of a stasis, that is peace, and that can be so rare. So much you’re sort of riding that wave and trying not to go up too much or down too much,” Lee said.

Only time will tell when AJ Lee will make her return to WWE television.
