Both Zaria and Paxley hot-tagged each other’s partners towards the end. Rain and Lyons went all-in, but Nikkita managed to rock Lizzy with a big hand, who got wobbled and tagged the Women’s North American Champion, who entered the ring, and connected a superkick on Big Kat.

Somehow, The Lioness gathered herself and connected a spinning kick on Tatum, knocking her down for a moment. Both women went to hot tags. While Paxley tagged Lizzy in, Zaria showed her true colors yet again, refusing to tag in and walking out, leaving Nikkita mad and screaming.

Taking advantage of the same, first, Tatum connected a kick on Lyons, and then Rain delivered a final blow on Nikkita, connecting her viral signature Thunderstruck kick to end the bout.

This is not the first time Zaria has betrayed her tag team partner. She is recently coming off a feud with her former tag partner, Sol Ruca, whom she ditched. Moreover, the Australian star also captured a win over Ruca in their final match: Last Woman Standing Match at WWE NXT: Revenge. This bout also served as Sol’s farewell to the developmental brand, as she joined WWE Monday Night RAW after it.

Zaria addressed fans following her former WWE partner’s departure

Last week, the Australian star came out to address Sol Ruca’s departure from the developmental brand. Taking a subtle shot at the 26-year-old rising superstar, Zaria said, now the air of NXT feels different and claimed that for the first time, nobody is holding her back, no dead weights, no fake friends. Then she called out Tatum Paxley for the WWE Women’s North American Championship.

Here’s what she said:

“NXT feels different, doesn’t it? There’s a change in the air, and now it could be anyone’s game. And honestly, for the first time, I’m standing in the middle of the women’s division with no one holding me back. No dead weight, no fake friends. The only why is me, and now I’m only starting to realize that this is how it always needed to be. Me, Zaria, alone. And now I have a clear path to the thing that started this all, the very thing that came in between me and Sol, the catalyst, the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Some people think that that title destroyed everything, but to me, that title is what finally woke me up because when you spend enough time around something like that, holding it, defending it, hearing about it, it starts to make you feel like it should be yours.”

Things turned chaotic as Paxley came out and warned Zaria for her wish to contest for her title. Lizzy Rain also came out and made it clear that even she wants to wrap the gold around her waist.

That wasn’t enough, as Nikkita Lynos, who lost to Rain in her debut match, also came out and expressed that she isn’t done with Lizzy, and a brawl broke out, which led to tonight’s kick-off tag team match.

With a lot going on in WWE NXT’s women’s division, it will be interesting to see what plans Shawn Michaels and his team have in store for the division in the coming weeks.
