Layla herself pushed back against some of the claims made about her departure from the company. In the exchange, she responded to a fan who claimed that she had been asked to return multiple times and said that wasn’t true. However, she added that she believes some fans would like to see her back, especially for a “LayCool reunion,” seemingly hinting that she was ready to return.

“No that’s not true and not what I said !!! I left in 2015 after I had signed a new contract and in 2021 I was pregnant! Please don’t be so bold when you actually don’t know the facts! I do believe some fans would love to see Me back …… definitely for a LayCool Reunion am I wrong ???? 💋.”

Her comments are particularly interesting because Layla has actually been discussing her relationship with wrestling again in 2026.

The former Divas Champion’s life after WWE

Layla recently appeared on Chris Van Vliet’s INSIGHT podcast, where she discussed her career, her decision to leave, becoming a mother, and the possibility of stepping back into the wrestling world.

The former Divas champion explained that she has returned to wrestling conventions and is enjoying reconnecting with fans after spending years away from the spotlight. However, she made it clear that she is not actively looking to restart her wrestling career.

In fact, Layla was quite direct when asked about having another match. She said she was not looking to wrestle again and that she was too old and out of shape. More importantly, though, she left one intriguing exception. If the promotion ever presented an opportunity for a LayCool reunion with Michelle McCool, Layla admitted she would find it difficult to turn down.

Layla and McCool formed LayCool, one of the most memorable acts of the Divas Era. The duo became major players in the women’s division and were involved in several notable storylines before eventually splitting in 2011.

Layla went on to become the WWE Divas Champion and also captured the Women’s Championship during her nine-year run. She officially retired from the company in 2015 after deciding she had accomplished everything she wanted in the company. WWE’s own farewell interview at the time described her departure as the beginning of the next chapter of her life.
