Kevin Owens defeated Gunther, Sami Zayn, and Finn Balor in a Fatal 4-Way match at the PLE earlier this month to become the number one contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Owens will be challenging CM Punk for the title on this Friday’s episode of SmackDown in Toronto.

Adam Pearce confirms huge WWE title match for tonight’s episode of RAW

Adam Pearce confirmed a massive title match earlier this week for tonight’s episode of WWE RAW.

The RAW GM shared a video on social media over the weekend and confirmed that Chad Gable would be putting the Intercontinental Championship on the line tonight against Rey Mysterio. Gable defeated Penta at SummerSlam to capture his first singles title on the main roster.

“Breaking news: live tomorrow night on the flagship in Buffalo, Chad Gable will put the Intercontinental Championship on the line against the Hall of Famer and the greatest luchador of all time, Rey Mysterio! That is right, it is Gable versus Rey, live tomorrow night in Buffalo,” said Pearce.

Nick Aldis got a standing ovation from the WWE Universe following his loss to Gunther at SummerSlam, as it was the SmackDown GM’s first match in three years. Only time will tell if Pearce ever decides to return to the ring.
