Here are four signs that WWE seems to have given up on Dominik Mysterio.

#4. Dominik Mysterio keeps taking pinfalls on TV

Dominik Mysterio has increasingly become the wrestler who takes the loss for his side on RAW. That was clear on the July 20 edition of the show. Mysterio was pinned by Joe Hendry in a match that also featured interference by Liv Morgan, IYO SKY, and Danhausen.

The result stood out because “Dirty” Dom is still presented as a champion in AAA. Despite that, he continues to lose on weekly television while helping other stars build momentum.

That is usually the role of a secondary heel. Instead of picking up important wins, Mysterio has become the one taking the pinfall to move other storylines forward.

#3. Comedy feud with Danhausen

Dominik Mysterio’s SummerSlam program this year is very different from the one he had in 2025. Last year, he successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship against AJ Styles in a major singles match. This year, he is feuding with Danhausen in a comedy storyline.

The rivalry has been entertaining and has received plenty of fan attention. However, it has exposed the way the company seems to be looking at Dominik and how he is being presented. Instead of looking like a title contender, he has become the cowardly villain who is regularly embarrassed for laughs.

#2. Difference between his booking in WWE and AAA

Dominik Mysterio has been presented very differently in AAA. He is the reigning AAA Mega Champion and one of the promotion’s biggest stars. His character is treated as an important part of the show, while still keeping the entertaining personality that fans know.

That has not been the case in WWE. On RAW, Dominik has been taking regular losses and is often used to help move other storylines forward. The difference between the two versions of his character is night and day.

It also says a lot about how each company currently views him. In AAA, Dominik is booked like the world champion that he is. In WWE, he has struggled to feel like one.

#1. No proper feud on RAW since Finn Balor

Dominik Mysterio has not had a meaningful singles rivalry on RAW since his feud with Finn Balor. They faced off in a Street Fight at WrestleMania 42, where Dominik lost to “The Demon” Finn Balor. Since wrapping up the feud, he has not been given another major one-on-one program.

Instead, most of his television time has come as part of Liv Morgan’s stories or in multi-person matches involving The Judgment Day. Without a proper singles feud, Dominik has struggled to build any momentum as an individual star. It has been months since WWE presented him as the focus of a serious rivalry on RAW.
