Rhea Ripley was last seen in action at Clash in Italy, where she successfully defended her title against Jade Cargill in a WrestleMania 42 rematch.

On the following SmackDown, the Eradicator came out wearing a knee brace and revealed that her knee was a little bit banged up.

The timing of her injury couldn’t have been worse, as there were plans in place to book her against either Jacy Jayne or Alexa Bliss for the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam 2026.

But it doesn’t seem like those plans will come to fruition anytime soon. Rumor has it that WWE has discussed stripping the Australian star of her title if her injury gets worse.

Amid her absence, Rhea Ripley made a rare appearance at Power Slap last night, where she caught up to Nina Maria Daniele for an interview.

During the conversation, she disclosed that she had suffered a slight tear in her meniscus.

“I am. I’m [injured], sorry, I’m, unfortunately… I hurt my knee. I’ve got a slight tear in my meniscus so it’s just healing. It’s getting there. It’s getting stronger. But I can’t bend it right now, so I kind of need it to bend, guys.”

The 29-year-old SmackDown Superstar further added that there’s no timeline or estimated return date. She will continue to monitor how her body responds to her treatment.

“I don’t know. I tore it in a really weird spot, so it’s kind of a little bit up in the air, with just like how fast my body recovers. But I’ve been out for just over a month and one week. It feels better, but it still starts to hurt and throb. It gets tired. I can’t get up or bend down really slow, so I kind of move side to side while crouching so it sucks. We will see how it goes.”

Will Rhea Ripley be back in time for WWE SummerSlam 2026?

Judging by her statement, it doesn’t seem like Rhea Ripley will make it in time for the Biggest Party of the Summer.

Fans will have to wait a little longer to see her back inside the squared circle.

WWE has yet to issue an official statement on her injury and whether a decision will be made to take the Women’s title off her. The creative has discussed alternative plans if she doesn’t come back.

With Jade Cargill vs. Charlotte Flair already in the works, it will be interesting to see if WWE will raise the stakes by adding championship implications.
