Ripley’s medical condition and status for WWE SummerSlam 2026 are unclear as of this writing. The promotion is reportedly evaluating her injury and is looking for alternative creative ideas if she is unable to compete at The Biggest Party of the Summer.

Mami recently posted a picture alongside King Kreas on her official Instagram handle. Interestingly, she was seen sporting a curly crop hairstyle in the photo. While it could be a wig, it was still significantly different from her straight, long hair.

Before Ripley went on hiatus, WWE teased many compelling feuds involving her. Jacy Jayne, Charlotte Flair, and Blake Monroe seemed like the top contenders to challenge for Mami’s gold.

WWE Replaced Rhea Ripley

The WWE Women’s Championship is the top title on SmackDown. Hence, Rhea Ripley was widely expected to defend her gold at Night of Champions 2026 on June 27. Moreover, she was also featured on the official poster for the event.

After the confirmation of her injury, Ripley was removed from the promotional material for Night of Champions. She was replaced by Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton.

The Buff Barbie is scheduled to defend the Women’s United States Championship against Jade Cargill in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Cargill and The Baddies have been at odds with Tiffany Stratton in recent weeks. Big Jade and Stratton will finally get to settle their differences in a title bout later this month.

On last night’s SmackDown, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan defeated Charlotte Flair to book her spot in the final of the 2026 Queen of the Ring. Morgan is eyeing the Women’s Title held by Rhea Ripley.

If Morgan defeats IYO SKY to win the tournament, she will earn a shot at the Women’s Championship. The Miracle Kid could battle Mami at SummerSlam if she becomes Queen of the Ring.
