John Cena, who played host at WrestleMania 42 this year, appears to be enamoured by the face-painted star, whom he encountered at The Show of Shows during a segment. Cena took to Instagram and posted a tribute to the entertaining wrestler after the Knicks’ historic NBA Championship victory after half a century.

Check out his tribute below:

The John Cena and Danhausen camaraderie is not something one expected, but fans cannot seem to get enough of it. After an entertainment segment at WrestleMania 42, Mr. Very Nice, Very Evil called The Franchise Player his best friend and also made an offer to coax him, among other retired stars, into coming out of retirement.

Whether Cena listens to his new friend is a discussion for another day. However, it would seem that The Never Seen 17 is at peace with his decision to hang up his wrestling boots.

New York Knicks honor WWE star Danhausen after their historic victory

Danhausen is known to put curses on people, bringing misfortune upon them. Curiously, while beefing with a New York Knicks superfan earlier in the season, he had cursed the basketball team, after which they had a brief unsatisfactory run.

He later uncursed them, which led to a 13-game winning streak, helping them to get to the finals. They eventually went on to defeat the San Antonio Spurs with Mr. Very Nice, Very Evil present at the arena.

All of this has made the WWE Superstar quite popular with the Knicks fans. The team also honored the face-painted star by putting up special Danhausen merchandise on their official website.

It remains to be seen what the unpredictable Mr. Very Nice, Very Evil will be up to next in WWE.
