He was featured on the “Something to Wrestle with Bru” podcast, saying that avoiding a trial is often the smartest business move. He recalled being told that a bad settlement proves better than a good lawsuit. The fact that TKO got out of it before major implications shows it managed to settle the case on the first level.

“My dad used to always tell me a bad settlement is better than a good lawsuit any day of the week,” JBL said (3:04 onward). “I’ve been around Vince [McMahon] a long time. Vince just gets out of things, you know, that sometimes it’s just not worth the trouble. … I don’t know the merit of the lawsuit itself, but getting out of this, that’s a really good thing for TKO.”

The WWE legend seemed to back TKO and, mainly, Vince McMahon, as he saw a lack of merit in the plaintiffs. Filing a lawsuit and tying bigger companies in court to get lucky with a settlement is what it’s all about. He hopes that the opposition didn’t walk away with a major cash grab for this case.

“Me and Ron [Simmons] used to talk about this all the time,” JBL said (5:48 onward). “We’re going to sue the company for a billion dollars, and we’re going to settle for 100,000 just so we get $100,000 and pay off our house. That’s what these lawyers are doing. They’re going to try to tie them up in court and see if we can’t get lucky and get a settlement, and that’s all these jacka***s are doing. … I just don’t see any merit to this whatsoever.”

Teddy Long will return to WWE under Vince McMahon’s regime

Teddy Long has the WWE Legends deal and is ready to work in WWE once again. However, he wants that much more under the creative of Vince McMahon. Long spoke on TMZ’s “Inside The Ring” about this and hoped for a Vince return.

“I have that Legends deal, so if they call me, I have to go to work,” Long said. “I’ll do what I’m told, what I have to do. But if I had to go back, I wish it would be under the whims of Vince McMahon.”

Long’s last appearance was during the April 26, 2024, episode of SmackDown as part of the WWE draft. He had been a major WWE figure over the years, a SmackDown general manager and manager for Mark Henry.
