Roman Reigns successfully defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu last month at Backlash 2026. Reigns also got the better of Fatu in a Tribal Combat match at Clash in Italy last month. As a result of the loss, The Samoan Werewolf had to align with Reigns and The Usos on RAW.

Cody Rhodes is the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion and defeated Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42 to retain the title. The American Nightmare got the better of Gunther at Clash in Italy to remain champion, but the bout had a controversial finish. Gunther will be getting a rematch for the title, and he gets to choose the stipulation for the upcoming title match.

Former WWE writer criticizes Roman Reigns’ storyline

Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently claimed that The Bloodline storyline was overrated.

Speaking on Vince Russo’s The Brand, the veteran suggested that The Bloodline was overrated and the storyline had been going on for too long.

“We’ve got this Samoan dynasty now going on for, bro, it feels like 20 years. It literally feels like 20 years, okay? Maybe the first time everybody liked it, and I’ll be quite honest with you, the first time I thought it was very, very, very, very overrated. I’m not gonna lie to you. We got a Samoan family, and this guy’s the chief, and that guy wants the power, and this guy wants the power. Oh, really? Oh, that’s really, really f*cking involved and mind-crushing television. Everybody put the original bloodline over so much because there was nothing else on the show. Let’s be honest, bro. There was nothing else happening on the show, so all of a sudden, the Bloodline became the greatest freaking wrestling angle in the world. The Bloodline angle was mediocre at best.”
