In one of the major highlights of the match, Jessica Carr was pushed into an exposed turnbuckle while she was attempting to tie it back. Although the blow stunned her momentarily, the 34-year-old quickly got herself into position to attend to a pin-fall attempt. However, it got worse for her, as Becky Lynch’s kick intended for AJ Lee floored her.
While Jessika Carr was down, The Geek Queen applied the Black Widow submission hold, making Lynch tap out. But since the referee was incapacitated, the bout continued till Lee made the champion tap again to emerge victorious and become the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
Earlier today, Jessika Carr posted multiple pictures from the championship match. In the caption, she took a subtle dig at Becky Lynch and noted that she was proud of her for taking the bumps last night. Carr stated that she was fired up heading into WrestleMania 42 and congratulated AJ Lee on winning the championship match.
“What a wild night in Chicago!! Despite the chaos and despite having to deal with certain egos… I’m damn proud to have been standing in that ring last night (and not standing for a portion as well). Elimination Chamber was wild! I could barely sleep last night because I’m pumped and fired up knowing we are headed straight into Wrestlemania! 🚗 to Indy for RAW. Congratulations @theajmendez for being an incredible performer and human being. 🩵,” Carr wrote.

Winning at WWE Elimination Chamber helped AJ Lee keep her immaculate record against Becky Lynch intact
While their championship match at WWE Elimination Chamber was their first one-on-one bout, Becky Lynch and AJ Lee had already shared the WWE ring twice before. In her first in-ring appearance since returning after a decade, Lee teamed up with her husband, CM Punk, to go up against Lynch and her husband, Seth Rollins, in a mixed tag team match at WWE WrestlePalooza. The contest ended with The Man tapping out to the Black Widow.
AJ Lee then aligned herself with Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss to compete against Becky Lynch, The Kabuki Warriors, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend in the 2025 Women’s WarGames Match. The bout had a similar finish; the 38-year-old made Lynch give up to the Black Widow.
Becky Lynch tapped out one more time at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event, resulting in AJ Lee becoming the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion. The two performers are expected to continue their feud and have their next title match at WrestleMania 42.
