IYO SKY won the 2026 Queen of the Ring Tournament by defeating Liv Morgan in the final. Immediately after her win, SKY challenged Morgan to a Women’s World Championship match at SummerSlam 2026. The card for The Biggest Party of the Summer already seems stacked. However, WWE is still expected to add 10-plus bouts to the premium live event.
Fans are actively speculating which matches will be added to the match card for SummerSlam 2026. Meanwhile, a recent report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed the initial lineup for The Biggest Party of the Summer. Some of the matches are unlikely to take place as of this writing. Meanwhile, others are still not out of the question.
The SummerSlam match card will likely undergo many changes before the show goes down in Minnesota next month. In this article, we will look at nine matches WWE had planned for The Biggest Party of the Summer.
#9. Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk
Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk has been rumored to take place for months. The duo came face-to-face on the RAW after WrestleMania 42. During the exchange, Punk teased pursuing the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Punk is rumored to return on the upcoming episode of RAW after a lengthy hiatus. On the same show, Rhodes will battle Sami Zayn in an Undisputed WWE Championship match.
The American Nightmare vs. The Best in the World remains a possibility, regardless of the title match’s outcome. In fact, a showdown of that magnitude doesn’t necessarily need a championship. WWE could set up the much-awaited bout in Chicago on Monday.
#8. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins Will Headline SummerSlam 2026
Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins is already confirmed for SummerSlam 2026. This past Monday, Rollins, who was fresh off a victory over Bron Breakker, challenged the OTC to a title match at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
The Visionary highlighted that he has always managed to outclass Reigns in WWE. He presented the World Heavyweight Champion with the opportunity to settle the score once and for all in Minnesota. Reigns, who was hungry for revenge, instantly accepted the challenge. The OTC vs. Rollins will now headline SummerSlam 2026 next month.
#7. Rhea Ripley vs. Alexa Bliss or Jacy Jayne
WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley has been at odds with Jacy Jayne since Fatal Influence’s main roster debut. Mami and Jayne have already shared the ring on SmackDown and seem destined to engage in a title feud.
Alexa Bliss has also been closely working with Rhea Ripley since WrestleMania 42. Before Clash in Italy, they had a common enemy in the form of The Baddies. Ripley vs. Bliss or Jayne is still possible for SummerSlam. However, Mami is currently dealing with a real-life injury. WWE is reportedly unsure about her status for SummerSlam 2026.
#6. Liv Morgan vs. IYO SKY
Liv Morgan vs. IYO SKY is another confirmed match on this list. SKY beat Morgan fair and square in the final of the Queen of the Ring to earn a world title shot at SummerSlam 2026.
SKY wasted no time and chose to go after the Women’s World Championship at The Biggest Party of the Summer. This past Monday, The Judgment Day brutally attacked the Japanese sensation to help Morgan gain an advantage ahead of the show in Minneapolis. It will be interesting to see if Morgan can successfully defend her gold in her first televised championship bout.
#5. Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar
Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar is among the three matches WWE confirmed for SummerSlam 2026 on this week’s RAW. The Ruler and The Beast Incarnate hold one win each in their heated rivalry. This past Monday, Femi gave up his world title shot to face Lesnar in Minneapolis.
The Beast Incarnate later said the bout would only happen if it were contested inside Hell in a Cell. Femi quickly relinquished his title shot at The Biggest Party of the Summer to settle his differences with the legend.
#4. Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill
WWE has been building up the much-awaited match between Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill. The two have crossed paths many times in recent months. Flair interfered in Cargill’s Women’s Title match at Clash in Italy.
At Night of Champions 2026, The Queen cost Big Jade a potential Women’s United States Championship win. Cargill, alongside The Baddies, has also left no stone unturned in making Flair’s life difficult. Hence, their imminent showdown is in the cards for SummerSlam 2026.
#3. Trick Williams vs. Carmelo Hayes
Trick Williams vs. Carmelo Hayes was widely expected to take place at WrestleMania 42. However, Sami Zayn defeated Hayes before ‘Mania and went on to face Williams at The Show of Shows.
Williams currently holds the United States Championship. Last night, Melo confronted him and claimed that he could dethrone him as champion. In response, Lil Yachty handed him a non-title match for next week’s SmackDown. It seems like WWE is setting up a title match between the former teammates for SummerSlam 2026.
Hayes could defeat Williams in a non-title match to earn a championship shot at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
#2. Gunther vs. Royce Keys
Gunther failed to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship on two consecutive premium live events. Following his latest defeat at Night of Champions, The Ring General lost his cool and engaged in a scuffle with SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis.
Royce Keys is currently part of The Bloodline saga on SmackDown. He recently lost to Gunther in a number one contender’s match. Hence, a rematch between the duo at SummerSlam 2026 seems highly unlikely.
A recent report suggested that WWE was considering the idea of booking Aldis vs. Gunther for SummerSlam 2026. Therefore, The National Treasure could end up facing The Career Killer at The Biggest Party of the Summer instead of Keys.
#1. Paige and Brie Bella vs. Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid
Paige and Brie Bella have had their fair share of issues with Fatal Influence from the very beginning of the faction’s main roster run. They have crossed paths many times and are set to officially lock horns inside the ring later this month.
Last night on SmackDown, WWE officially confirmed that The Glampire and Brie will defend their Women’s Tag Team Championship against Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley on July 18. The bout will take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event in New York. Given that WWE booked the bout for SNME, it is unlikely to run it back at SummerSlam 2026.
