Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will miss the team’s first game back after the All-Star break against the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday due to an issue with his shin, reports ESPN’s Tim Bontemps.
Embiid has appeared in just 31 games this season, but has looked good when he’s been able to play. His average is back up to over 26 points per game after averaging 23.8 points last season in only 19 games. While Sixers may not be viewed as a legit championship contender by everyone, they are currently in 6th place in the eastern conference with a record of 30-24.
