That being said, there is a case to be made for LA Knight to win the 2026 King of the Ring Tournament and finally earn another world title shot after such a long time. Here, we will discuss five things that may happen if Knight wins the tournament at Night of Champions.
#5. His relationship with The Usos could completely break down
Not too long ago, LA Knight teamed up with The Usos to battle Austin Theory, Logan Paul and IShowSpeed at WrestleMania 42. However, he had made it clear well in advance that they would have problems if The Bloodline reunited. After all, they all conspired to cost LA Knight a shot at Roman Reigns during his record-breaking Universal Championship run.
Now, if The Megastar earns another shot at the Tribal Chief by winning the King of the Ring Tournament, his relationship with The Usos might completely break down. The twins will certainly prioritize their cousin, and Knight could make an enemy out of all of them in the process.
#4. Gunther might go on to challenge Cody Rhodes
All three superstars in the King of the Ring semifinal are from RAW, and only Finn Balor and Royce Keys have a chance to go through on SmackDown. Both of them have slim chances to advance to the last four, since they aren’t really involved in the world title picture.
That being said, Gunther lost to Cody Rhodes under rather controversial circumstances at Clash in Italy. Therefore, they will likely have a rematch in the near future. If no one from SmackDown is able to win the King of the Ring Tournament, then Gunther could go on to have a clear pathway to another Undisputed WWE Championship opportunity. With the way things are going on SmackDown, it seems clear that WWE will have Gunther and Cody Rhodes run it back, while the King of the Ring winner goes on to challenge Roman Reigns.
#3. We might witness Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar III
Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar are currently tied 1-1, with one win each. However, Oba has made it clear that he is not done with The Beast Incarnate just yet. The Ruler is set to face Dominik Mysterio in the semi-final of the tournament, but could be robbed of the victory by Brock Lesnar.
With a fair playing field, Oba Femi is bound to run through Mysterio. If that happens, he might face Knight in the finals at Night of Champions. The Beast Incarnate could cost Oba Femi the match and give Knight the win, leading to the two behemoths completing their trilogy with a highly-anticiapted rubber match at SummerSlam. On the other hand, LA Knight could go on to challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Biggest Party of The Summer.
#2. Roman Reigns could get mad at Jey Uso
During his last appearance on WWE RAW, Roman Reigns had pointed out to Jey Uso that there were two ends to the table. He then told his cousin to go after the Undisputed WWE Championship by winning the King of the Ring Tournament.
Uso has the chance to win, but has to go through Knight, Balor and Keys on SmackDown tonight. If Uso fails, and LA Knight ultimately goes on to win the tournament, Reigns would no doubt be left furious. He could lash out at Jey Uso once again, and leave him an emotional mess. The OTC might go as far as to banish him from The Bloodline, setting him up for a return to being a singles star once again.
#1. Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight at SummerSlam
Reigns and LA Knight are no strangers to one another, and have already battled over the Universal Championship during his 1316-day run. The Megastar hasn’t been able to return to the world title picture in a long time.
Winning the King of the Ring Tournament would be a huge credibility boost for The Megastar, who has been booked sparingly since WrestleMania 42. Whether or not he actually goes on to win the World Title at the premium live event is another issue altogether, but it would certainly be refreshing to see him booked prominently again.
