In the latest AAA event, Rey de Reyes, Santos Escobar lost in what was described as a very underwhelming performance against El Grande Amerciano 1.0 and 2.0, as well as La Parka. According to Cory Hays of BodySlam, Santos Escobar is still very much signed to WWE despite his loss to El Grande Americano 2.0, and is expected to feud with El Hijo de Dr. Wager Jr.

El Grande Americano, a Mexican hero, could now be the one to dethrone Dominik Mysterio.

It was noted by some fans that Danhausen’s curse on Dominik Mysterio didn’t seem to cross the American border as he went to Mexico and successfully retained his AAA Mega Championship against El Hijo de Vikingo – the ace of AAA who seems to be rejected by the home fanbase.

While Dominik’s victory was far from a clean one, it guaranteed one thing: he will be defending his title next against the second El Grande Americano, who has become somewhat of a hero in the eyes of the Mexican AAA fans. The two will presumably go up against each other in an upcoming AAA event, although WWE could smartly build a crossover on Monday Night RAW, since both Dominik and Americano 2.0 compete on the red brand.

It’s going to be interesting to see who AAA fans pick when the two men inevitably have a showdown. Dominik has been popular from day one in AAA as his Americano 2.0. In fact, the roles flipped a bit because the “original” El Grande Americano is a babyface on RAW and a heel in AAA, while it is the complete opposite for 2.0 in Mexico

One would think that Americano 2.0 will be the sentimental favorite among the AAA faithful.
