That said, in this article, we look at four feuds Roman Reigns should have before WrestleMania 43.
#4. Gunther
Should Roman Reigns retain against Seth Rollins, Gunther could emerge as the perfect challenger after failing to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The Ring General has already established himself as one of the most dominant competitors. However, if his pursuit of the blue brand’s top prize comes up short, a move back to RAW could immediately place him in Roman’s path.
The rivalry practically writes itself. Both men have built reputations around dominance, discipline, and carrying themselves as the true face of WWE. Roman has ruled through his leadership and unmatched aura. Meanwhile, Gunther has relied on his relentless in-ring excellence to dismantle opponents.
Unlike many of the OTC’s previous challengers, The Ring General wouldn’t need to rely on mind games or emotional storytelling. He would simply present himself as the wrestler capable of ending the Tribal Chief’s reign through sheer superiority.
Also, the clash would answer one of WWE’s biggest “what if” questions. Fans have long wanted to see these two modern legends collide. Thus, a World Heavyweight Championship program before WrestleMania 43 would feel worthy as the main event of such a major premium live event.
Even if Roman Reigns ultimately retained, defeating Gunther would only strengthen his legacy as champion.
#3. LA Knight
Few WWE Superstars have maintained their popularity quite like LA Knight. Despite constantly finding himself in major storylines, The Megastar has yet to receive a lengthy world championship rivalry with Roman Reigns. If the OTC remains champion after SummerSlam, WWE should finally capitalize on one of the company’s most anticipated matchups.
Knight possesses everything required to make the feud entertaining. His confidence on the microphone would create compelling verbal exchanges with the Tribal Chief. Meanwhile, his natural charisma would ensure fans remain invested throughout the rivalry.
Knight would likely refuse to acknowledge the champion’s status. Instead, he’d continuously mock The Bloodline while insisting that WWE belongs to him. That attitude would inevitably provoke Roman into one of his most personal rivalries in years.
#2. Jey Uso
Although Jey Uso is back in The Bloodline, that doesn’t necessarily guarantee long-term harmony. If Roman Reigns retains the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2026, WWE could begin planting the seeds for another explosive family conflict.
Despite rebuilding his relationship with Roman, Jey has endured several setbacks in his pursuit of a world championship. He has repeatedly come close to reaching the top of the mountain, only to fall short when it mattered most. Thus, if the OTC starts disregarding him, those frustrations may finally boil over.
Instead of remaining Roman’s trusted ally, Jey could shock the WWE Universe by walking away from The Bloodline altogether. Leaving the faction would signal that he no longer wants to live under The Tribal Chief’s shadow or be remembered as Roman’s right-hand man.
At the same time, the company could have The YEET Master embrace a darker, more ruthless heel persona. Thus, with a new attitude and a singular focus on winning a world championship, Jey could immediately set his sights on Roman Reigns.
The rivalry would no longer be about family loyalty or earning respect. Perhaps it would be about proving that he is ready to surpass his cousin and become the face of WWE.
#1. Oba Femi vs. Roman Reigns
If there’s one superstar who feels destined to collide with Roman Reigns, perhaps it’s Oba Femi. The powerhouse has rapidly emerged as one of WWE’s fastest-rising attractions. He has combined incredible athleticism with a commanding presence that already makes him feel like a future world champion.
After abandoning a world title shot, at least for now, to face Brock Lesnar in a Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam, The Ruler might set his sights on RAW’s big one. He is still the King of the Ring winner and might invoke his right to a title shot at a later date. Thus, should Roman retain his title at the summer spectacle, Oba could be positioned as his most dangerous challenger yet.
Unlike previous opponents, Oba wouldn’t need years of history with Roman to make the feud compelling. His dominance alone would establish him as a legitimate threat. Thus, the story could focus on two unstoppable forces finally colliding.
More importantly, this rivalry could serve as the bridge into the WrestleMania 43 season. Whether the OTC retained or finally dropped the championship, facing Oba before WrestleMania would elevate the younger star. Also, it would give fans one of the freshest marquee matches the company can produce.
