While the OTC is the fan-favorite for the win, considering he hasn’t been in the world title picture for a long time now, here are three reasons why the creative team shouldn’t pull the trigger on this move at ‘Mania 42:

#3. To validate CM Punk’s ‘fighting champion’ narrative

Since the feud between CM Punk and Roman Reigns kicked off, Punk has consistently called out Reigns for his part-time status.

If The Second City Saint retains at WrestleMania42, it would prove that his work ethic and dedication reign over the OTC’s schedule of limited appearances as a major attraction. Therefore, a win in the main event of ‘Mania would further solidify the fighting champion’s run.

#2. To stretch the Roman Reigns’ redemption arc

It’s important to note that Roman Reigns hasn’t been in the world title picture since dropping the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40.

While fans are eager for his return to the top, it looks like there is greater storytelling potential in Reigns potentially struggling to get himself back to the world title picture.
