• Nissan launches a new Sport Edition Package for the 2027 Frontier.
  • It sits between the SV and Pro-4X trims, featuring Hankook Dynapro all-terrain tires, an aluminum skid plate, and LED fog lights.
  • Visual upgrades include yellow-branded bedside graphics and yellow interior accents.

Nissan is adding a new package to the 2027 Frontier. It’s called the Sport Edition, and it sits between the SV and Pro-4X trims.

The Sport Edition Package is available on the Frontier SV. It adds an aluminum skid plate and 17-inch off-road style wheels wrapped in 265/70R17 Hankook Dynapro all-terrain tires. The pack also adds LED fog lights and front accent lighting.

The truck features yellow-accented “Sport” bedside graphics, a black grille, black mirrors, and a black badge on the tailgate. Inside, there is yellow contrast stitching on the black seats, grab handles, dash, seatback embroidery, and shift lever. There is even more yellow on the doors.

The Frontier continues to use the automaker’s naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V6, which has become a point of pride. It makes 310 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, offering buyers an old-school truck experience without the complexity of hybrids or turbochargers. The engine pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and it can tow up to 7,150 pounds.

Other 2027 Nissan Frontier Updates

Nissan gave the third-generation Frontier a thorough mid-cycle refresh for 2025, so this year’s updates are modest. There is a new exterior color—Alpine Metallic—and the Pro Convenience Package gets upgraded Qi2 wireless charging.

The 2027 Frontier will be available in four trims: S, SV, Pro-X, and Pro-4X. The King Cab remains in the lineup, limited to the Frontier S, while the four-door Crew Cab is available across the rest of the lineup. The Dark Armor and Pro-4X R packages return as well.

Nissan will announce pricing for the 2027 Frontier and the Sport Edition Package ahead of its arrival at dealers this summer. The entry-level 2026 Frontier King Cab S starts at $33,895 and tops out with the 2026 Frontier Crew Cab Pro-4X Long Bed at $44,115.

Motor1’s Take: The new Frontier SV Sport Edition might be the right combination of features and value that makes it a popular pick for buyers. The interior yellow accents are a bit much, but the outside is tasteful and rugged—just what truck buyers want.
