TNA released a statement on parting ways with Eric Young. The star is now a free agent immediately. The star has been the World Champion twice and dominated proceedings in TNA before, but it appears that they have decided he is not an important part of their company going forward.

“TNA Wrestling has come to terms on the release of Eric Young, effective immediately. EY has had a legendary TNA career, including twice as TNA World Champion. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Young is far from the only veteran released by TNA. Over the last few months, several top names and stars have been released by the company, all parting ways. Most recently, even Tommy Dreamer, the head of creative for the company, ended his time there.

As for what’s next for Young, there have been multiple reports that WWE is interested in him. Some reports have stated that Triple H had not wanted him to leave WWE in the first place, but the return of Vince McMahon and his involvement with creative had led to the star asking for his release. Now that he’s a free agent, Triple H will likely want him back in the company again.

The star himself has spoken up on what he thinks of the situation as well.
